In 1992, we launched our Dublin house price index, being the first organisation in the history of the State, outside of the Department of the Environment, to provide any coherent house price performance information to the general public.
In 1998 the first Sherry FitzGerald branch outside Dublin was opened in Galway. That same year one of Ireland's first property websites was launched - www.sherryfitz.ie - which today is Ireland's most visited estate agency website.
In 1998 we consolidated our growing presence in the commercial estate agency market by forming a joint venture company with the global property advisory firm DTZ Holdings. The company that was then formed, DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, is now Ireland's only truly national commercial property advisory company. Today DTZ Sherry FitzGerald nationally employs over 100 people.
In a bid to further extend our service reach we launched Ireland's first ever national property franchise system in 1999. In January of that year, Sherry FitzGerald McMahon became our first franchise member, with branches in Ennis and Shannon. In March that year the company floated on the Dublin Stock Exchange, which helped raise the required capital to pursue a strategy as Ireland's national property advisory company.
Shortly after flotation the Group acquired the Ross McParland New Homes business, Ireland's most successful niche New Homes
specialist. This business was later rebranded as Sherry FitzGerald New Homes. More residential branches were opened in Cork,
Limerick, Castleknock and Swords.
1999 also saw the launch of Sherry FitzGerald Capital a company that specialised in international property funds. This company later evolved into a joint venture and became Signature Capital
in the process.
