Mark has been part of the Sherry FitzGerald Group since 1996. He graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology with a diploma in Auctioneering, Valuations and Estate Agency. He also studied in Greenwich University, England, and received a BSc. (First Class Honors) in Management. He is a member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland (SCS).
Mark has strong community values, and in 2007 was elected to the Senate. He was reelected in 2011.
