About the Area

Claregalway is a Gaeltacht village about 10 km north of Galway in County Galway. The village lies within the Gaeltacht and traditionally most of the locals would have only spoken English as a second language. An influx of new residents over the last 30 years has meant that most residents now rarely, speak Irish. The village sits at the junction of the busy N17 and N18 national primary routes and over 27,000 vehicles pass through the village everyday.

Agriculture would once have been the main industry. In recent years the population has been expanding very rapidly since the village is within the commuter belt of Galway City. Many city workers are choosing to live outside the city environs in a more rural setting. However, the larger population has also led to the growth of the service and retail sector and has provided additional local employment.

€250,000 - Asking Price|5 Bedrooms, 207 sqm approx

At a first glance this house at Dalgin, Milltown seems to lie in natures embrace as it is surrounded by mature vegetation. Rustic in setting there is however nothing rustic about the quality finish or the decor of this house.

The kitchen has shaker style units, integrated appliances and an Electrolux cooker. The dining area separated from the kitchen by an island unit boasts a solid fuel stove and a feature stone tiled wall. Walk through an archway from the dining area and you enter magic, a sun room with a triangular window reaching into the apex of the roof and catching the last beams of the setting sun. French doors lead from the sun room to the patio and to the garden which is surrounded by a maturing beech hedge. A good sized utility and a toilet occupy the rear of the house.

To the front a ceramic tiled hallway leads to a large sitting room which features a cast iron fireplace and a solid oak floor. There are two ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor, both have French pine floorboards and tiled ensuites.
