Spring not quite sprung!

News Image

With Christmas and New Year behind us, spring must be only around the corner, so it’s time to plan ahead!  Whether staying put or moving to a new/second-hand home, the garden is one area that people can stress about, particularly if you don’t want a high-maintenance space.  Here is some inspiration – particularly for those smaller gardens – so you don’t just end up with a boring patch of grass and patio with table and chairs.  These ideas do not have to cost the earth, once you have a plan you can execute many of these on a budget, and you’d be surprised at how much you can do yourself.  In one of the photos above, paving slabs have been set into grass.  This will minimise your mowing at the weekend, and also provides space to sit, without having a defined area.  As in the second photo, herbs/low growing shrubs can be planted around the paving for a less austere look.  Photo 3 shows how curved rather than straight lines, add interest and movement to a boring rectangular or square garden. Try it and see!

Happy planning!
