Tip 1: De-clutter. Removing clutter can make the rooms appear bigger and tidier. Purchasers need to imagine themselves in the house and the nicer it looks the easier that is.
Tip 2: Use neutral tones. If your house needs a fresh lick of paint, use neutral colour’s to make your house look brighter and more welcoming.
Tip 3: Deep clean your home, including windows and doors. When this is done once, you will only need to do a quick tidy up before viewings and you are ready to go.
Tip 4: Cut the grass, pull the weeds and cut back any over grown shrubbery. Many purchasers want a house that is looked after so they know they are making a good investment.
Tip 5: It can be beneficial to have flowers in your house, especially for the photographs. Flowers really make a good impression and make a house look like a home.
Tip 6: Make small repairs. If they are only small and won’t cost the bank we recommend you get them fixed. Again, many purchasers want a house that is cared forĀ and if little bits and pieces are not working or broken this may give an unkempt impression.
Tip 7: In the colder months it is a great idea to have the heat on, a warm house is a cosy house. If you have an open fire or a stove it adds an extra touch to have it lit, giving the house a lovely homely feel.
Tip 8: Anything you can do to make the house as homely as possible will work in your favour. Try to create a nice atmosphere and a nice subtle smell can really add to that.
