Property Price Register
What is it?
Most buyers will be familiar with the Property Price Register, it includes Date of Sale, Price and Address of all residential properties purchased in Ireland since the 1st January 2010, as declared to the Revenue Commissioners for stamp duty purposes.
Benefit
Formulate your own view on property value to inform your strategy when making an offer on a property.

Land Direct
What is it?
Run by the Property Registration Authority (PRA) this website gives access to many Land Registry services including searching the Registry map and viewing documents (folios) which contain information relating to the title and ownership of 2.2 million registered properties.
Benefit
No need to create an account, just click ‘Proceed as Guest’ and search by Eircode. Where the property has been registered, site boundaries, site size and any registered rights of way may be visible. A Right of Way will be highlighted in yellow.
A word of caution, not all property has been registered and formally available online. It is also common for a folio to include ground which is not being included in a sale. A new map will be provided by the Vendor which will be registered at time of closing. Further, a Right of Way may not be what it seems. Always ask the question.

OSI – GeoHive
What is it?
A personal favourite! Geohive is absolutely packed with information and prepare to get side tracked as you make your way through some of the fascinating mapping Ordnance Survey Ireland have made freely available. Search by Eircode and select the map you wish to view through the Data Catalogue. Some of the most useful maps available online include the below however there are also a series of maps relating to ‘Nature and Environment’ along with ‘Population and Economy’:

Aerial 2005
Aerial 2000
Aerial 1995
Digital Globe 2011-2013
Historic Map 25 inch (1888-1913)
Historic Map 6 inch Colour (1837-1842)
Benefit
One of the main benefits is to put a date on the property, be it working out whether the extension was built in 1995 / 2005 or to working out if there was a structure there c.1900 or even c.1840.

MyPlan/Cork County Council
What is it?
Has there been a planning application on the property in recent years? MyPlan has the answer. This site is an initiative of the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government in conjunction with Irish Local Authorities. Go to the “National Planning Application Map Viewer” and enter the Eircode. An orange dot will appear where an application has been registered. The website will only provide the application number. Take note of the number and go to the Cork County Council Planning Enquiry page . Another option is to download the Cork County Council ‘Planning Viewer’ Application.
