As you approach Parsonstown, a magnificent tree-lined driveway unveils itself, guiding you towards the heart of the estate. The driveway opens to a picturesque stone-built courtyard, serving as the centrepiece of the property. Within the courtyard, there is a collection of buildings including the main house, two coach houses/garages, a potting shed, a boiler house and three separate loose boxes. Additionally, there is an old grinding shed, a garden shed, an open hayshed and a woodshed. There are three further yards and a former mill house. Each building tells a story, showcasing the rich history and thoughtful design that define Parsonstown. The main house, meticulously renovated in 1990 and expanded in 2007, emanates an air of elegance and sophistication. As you cross the threshold through the front period door, graced with a cut limestone surround and lead glass panels on each side, a light-filled hallway welcomes you with its beautifully tiled flooring.
To the left of the hallway, a downstairs W.C offers convenience and practicality. Moving to the right, a generously proportioned study awaits, boasting two sets of French doors that open to the outside. The room exudes warmth and charm, with its solid maple flooring and inviting wood-burning stove, creating a cosy sanctuary within the estate.
Returning to the main hallway, there is a butler's pantry, complete with fitted shelves and then a gracious drawing room that will take your breath away. Vaulted ceilings soar above, and three sets of French doors frame mesmerising views of the west-facing patio and the captivating landscape beyond. A Jetmaster fire adds warmth and comfort to the space. Adjacent to the drawing room, a peaceful sitting room beckons, featuring a cast iron fireplace and extensive bookshelves. Ascend the spiral stairway from the sitting room to reach the mezzanine study, a perfect space for work and relaxation.
Flowing seamlessly from the sitting room, a grand dining room awaits, again with vaulted ceiling that adds an airy and open ambiance. The room is fitted with a large open fireplace, showcasing a sense of grandeur. Two sets of French doors open to the garden, effortlessly blending indoor and outdoor living. Connected to the dining room is a well-appointed kitchen, complete with an oil-fired Aga, a beech-top island with two Miele gas hobs, a lava-rock grill and a ceramic sink, this space combines functionality with style. Recessed spot lighting illuminates the area, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Convenient access to the garden allows for seamless entertaining and enjoyment of the outdoor spaces.
Continuing from the kitchen is a back hall, featuring a flagstone floor and W.C. as well as providing access to the courtyard and the garden. The back hall leads to a practical laundry room equipped with a washer and dryer. A glass door leading outside further enhances the practicality of this space. A scullery/boot room completes the offerings on this level, providing an additional functional area within the home.

About the Area
Slane (Irish: Baile Shláin meaning Town of Sláine mac Dela) is a village in County Meath, on a steep hillside on the left bank of the River Boyne at the intersection of the N2 (Dublin to Monaghan road) and the N51 (Drogheda to Navan road). The village centre dates from the 18th century. The village and surrounding area contains many historic sites dating back over 5,000 years.
The village centre, laid out as a model village by the Conynghams is a good example of 18th-century town planning. At the centre of the village stand four nearly identical Georgian houses. The four houses stand at the intersection of the two main streets in the village. The four houses and four streets form an octagon. This feature is known as The Square. The two main streets in the village feature 18th century grey limestone buildings with slate roofs, oriel windows and stone steps and archways.
Bus Éireann route 190 & 190A link Slane to Navan, Trim, Athboy, Drogheda and Laytown. On weekdays there is a bus in each direction every hour to/from Navan and Drogheda. Collins Coaches operate a route linking Slane to Dublin, Collon, Ardee and Carrickmacross with one journey each way to/from Ballybay.
