Overview
Originally built and designed by William Francis Caldbeck in 1858, this Victorian gate lodge was extended in the same style in the 1980s, completely refurbished in 2014 and remodelled to include a large open plan kitchen in 2018. A secluded property it blends an innate architectural heritage with stylish modern interiors and beautiful exterior gardens. It is a protected structure all refurbishments and extensions were overseen by a conservation architect in conjunction with the DLR Planning Authority.

Renovations
The 2014 renovations included slate roof, valleys, insulation, floors, doors, windows, electrics, plumbing, heating, fixtures and fittings as well as redecoration inside and out. In 2018 a modern extension to the rear included a redesign of the house.

Description
The house is decorated in neutral colours complemented by high ceilings and light filled rooms. Custom-made fixtures and fittings create a simple, modern flow throughout. Shankill is a suburb of Dublin, situated close to the border with County Wicklow. The centre of Shankill Village today consists primarily of a main street with cafés and retail outlets. To the north of Shankill is Killiney and to the south is Bray town. There are several antiquities in the area, including ruined churches and standing stones. Brady's of Shankill is the main pub/restaurant/off-licence complex in the village. Shankill is also served by convenience stores, take-away restaurants and bookmakers, as well as many other shops and services, located in Shankill Shopping Centre.
