2 Brabazon Cottages
Lower Dargle Road
Bray
Co. Wicklow
A98 KW20
Description
Dating back to 1882, Buildings of Ireland Inventory describes Brabazon Cottages as a group of five, two-bay one and a half story homes. The façade of the terrace is striking, finished in uncoursed rubble with extensive ornate brickwork with slated hooded porches. This listed terrace dates back to the Meath Estate that has made a lasting presence in Bray that at one point held 14,000 acres in Wicklow including Kilruddery House.
No. 2 Brabazon Cottages has been carefully and tastefully renovated by the current owners making this property a warm and welcoming home while maintaining its charm and many of its original features. The recent upgrades include newly laid flooring, replastering of certain walls, renewed electrical sockets and the installation of a new boiler.
This wonderfully bright house balances period features and modern living from the contemporary high gloss kitchen juxtaposed by the rough original stone walls to the original panelled doors and pot belly stove in the living room and the modern shower room to the rear of the property. The bedroom space is generous with two double bedrooms on the upper floor, one with an original cast iron fireplace.
French doors open out on to a sun drenched, south facing patio garden with block-built storage shed, colourful planting in raised beds and a door through to a secondary garden area. This is part of an exclusive laneway that runs down the back of each cottage with each area maintained and for sole use by their owners.
The location is second to none, within minutes walking distance to Bray Town which offers an abundance of shops, schools, restaurants, the DART, regular bus services and the N11 is close to hand.
We would strongly recommend viewing this special and unique property.

The scenic Cliff Walk on the eastern side of Bray Head, which continues, into Greystones offers walkers a feast of views on the way.
The town boasts fine period housing, shops, restaurants and evening entertainment. Also available in the immediate locality are golf courses, tennis, fishing, sailing, and horse riding.
