Malahide is a beautiful coastal village easily accessible to the city centre situated 16 kilometres north of Dublin City Centre, lying between Swords, Kinsealy and Portmarnock. FESTIVAL TIME

Summer sees Malahide Castle playing host to a variety of concerts, from George Ezra, The Cure, Mumford & Sons and Lana Del Ray who all performed there recently, it is also a venue for international cricket matches and scenic walks or bike rides if you’re feeling energetic! You’ll also find Avoca Food Market and Café in the grounds if you start to feel peckish! A visit to the Castle itself is a must to learn about what life was like for the Talbot family who lived there for hundreds of years.  There are also walled gardens, a fairy trail and a butterfly house within the grounds, Toots (little road train) runs between the castle and the beach throughout the year.

LOCAL HOSTELRIES

Gibney’s Pub is a household name not only in Malahide but in the surrounding areas too. The rooftop terrace is a popular spot to enjoy a drink on a warm summers’ day making it a regular with locals bringing a neighbourhood vibe to the place.  You’ve plenty of choice of other popular venues too, Fowler’s, Duffy’s and Gilbert & Wright are all well worth a visit.

GETTING HERE

Simply hop on the DART or Dublin Bus number 42 from Dublin’s Talbot Street will take you there, going by car is approximately 30 mins drive and start enjoying village life. With a Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, GAA Club, Yacht, Cricket, Basketball, choice of Golf Club and with Dublin Airport a short 10 mins drive away - what’s not to love about Malahide.
