The Gables
Ballymacahara
Ashford
Co. Wicklow
A67 X621
Description
Offering all the charm of period features along with every modern convenience including fibre optic broadband. The Gables has been sympathetically extended and renovated in recent years to provide a stylish and comfortable country home. Without compromise, the tranquil and private setting of the property offers direct access to Coillte Woods, yet is within strolling distance from the thriving village of Ashford.
With three bedrooms, and three reception rooms, this lovely home has all the farmhouse charm and space needed for a family home.
The gardens are a joy - south facing and beautifully planted, they extend to one third of an acre - and include a selection of apple trees, rhododendrons, camellias and holly trees for additional winter colour. There are two outdoor dining areas with sea views and recently fitted exterior lighting - perfect for summer entertaining. Hardwood gates lead to parking for up to five cars.(wiring present to make them electric if required)
There are the added bonuses of a large detached garage and a separate, fully insulated cedar clad work studio/unit positioned to take in the glorious sea views; fitted with laminate wood flooring, multiple plug points, mounted electric heater, external lighting with an optional night sensor.
For the dog lover there is a fenced dog enclosure with exterior lighting.
The property has been completely renovated and insulated (with breathable lamb’s wool used in the attic space). The property also benefits from double and triple glazed hardwood windows to create a warm and comfortable home.
Planning permission had previously been granted for a large 1300 sq. ft extension. While now lapsed, this could easily be reinstated.
